Download Brave Browser

Brave is available for Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iPhone and iPad. Release is the standard build for everyday browsing, while Beta and Nightly provide earlier access to upcoming changes. On desktop, you can also bring over supported bookmarks, history, passwords and settings from another browser, then keep compatible data in sync across Brave devices.

Desktop installs vary by system: Linux uses distribution-specific repositories or an install script, macOS uses the Mac installer, and Windows can use the Windows installer or Microsoft Store. Release is the regular build, with Beta and Nightly available for earlier access to new features.

The mobile versions include Shields, tab management, search and Brave Sync, with dedicated downloads for Android and iOS. If you already use Brave on another device, Sync can carry supported browser data between devices without recreating your setup from scratch.

Release, Beta, and Nightly

Release is the standard build for everyday use. Beta previews features that are close to release and is available on desktop, Android and iOS. Nightly gets in-progress changes earlier and is available on Windows, macOS, Linux and Android.

Bring your browsing setup with you

01

Import your browser data

On desktop, Brave can import supported bookmarks, browsing history, saved passwords and selected settings from another browser, so switching does not mean rebuilding everything from scratch.

02

Set up Brave your way

Set Brave as your default browser if you want, choose a search engine, and adjust Shields for the sites you use. These settings can be changed later without reinstalling the browser.

03

Keep your Brave devices in sync

Brave Sync shares supported data between Brave devices. It is separate from importing Chrome, Edge, Firefox or another browser into a new Brave installation.

Brave download FAQ

Which operating systems support Brave Browser?

Brave desktop builds are available for Windows, macOS and Linux, while mobile builds are available for Android and iOS, including iPhone and iPad. Installation differs by operating system and release channel.

Which Brave build should I install on Windows?

Release is the standard Windows build for everyday browsing. Beta previews features that are close to release, while Nightly receives earlier in-progress changes and is aimed more at advanced users, developers and testing.

What should I do after installing Brave on macOS?

After installation, you can import supported browser data, set Brave as your default browser, choose a search engine, review Shields settings and connect other Brave devices with Sync.

Why is Brave installation different on Linux?

Brave uses the package and repository systems provided by Linux distributions. Debian / Ubuntu / Mint and Fedora / Rocky / RHEL use different installation methods, and Brave currently supports both 64-bit AMD / Intel and ARM architectures.

Which Brave release channels are available on mobile?

Release is available on Android and iOS. Brave Beta is also available on Android and iOS, while Brave Nightly currently provides an Android mobile build in addition to Windows, macOS and Linux desktop builds.

How do Release, Beta, and Nightly relate to each other?

New features usually appear in Nightly first, move to Beta for further testing, and then reach Release. The channels represent different stages of maturity rather than simply more or fewer features.

Can I import data from Chrome, Edge, Firefox, or another browser?

Desktop Brave can import supported bookmarks, browsing history, saved passwords and selected settings from supported browsers. The exact import options depend on the source browser and operating system.

What is the difference between browser import and Brave Sync?

Browser import moves supported data from another browser into the current Brave installation. Brave Sync is used to share supported Brave data between multiple Brave devices, so the two tools solve different migration stages.
